Beaches of Chennai

Chennai the developed city of India is also blessed with nature’s God gift. The beaches in Chennai add an additional beauty in the geography of Chennai. Beaches of Chennai have their boundaries linked with the Bay of Bengal and this increases their importance.

One who visits the beaches of Chennai can feel the spirit of a fisherman going in the sea to hunt fishes. Besides this these beaches serve as boon of relaxation during the hot and humid weather. There are three major beaches in Chennai. Following paragraphs brief the features of Chennai beaches:

Marina Beach: Owing the pride of marking itself as the second longest beast in the world, the beach lies on eastern coast of Tamil Nadu. Mostly people visit the place in the morning and evening hours and can enjoy the taste of sundal and murukku available on the food kiosks located on the beach.

Elliot Beach: Also considered as the sister beach of Marina Beach as it also lies on the eastern coast of Tamil Nadu close to Besant Nagar. This beach is also recognized as the hot spot for the youth of Chennai as they gather here in the evening hours and therefore it is also famous as night beach among the youth.

Covelong Beach: This beach has been now renovated into a beautiful resort under the supervision of Taj Group of Hotels and is called as Fisherman’s Cove Resort. Located on the way to Mahabalipuram the beach separates the mainland by a canal passing between Chennai and Mahabalipuram.
