Burn Reconstruction

Restoring, reconstructing, or sometimes altering the human body is necessary to correct functional impairments caused by burns, traumatic injuries, congenital abnormalities, developmental abnormalities, infection, disease, and cancer or tumors. Reconstructive plastic surgery is usually performed to improve function, but it may be done to approximate a normal appearance. The department routinely performs many types of reconstructive surgeries such as hand surgery, microsurgery, and the treatment of burns.
